My blog. My opinion. The rest don’t matter.
First, I am not ashamed of being a Filipino because I am not at least proud to be one to start with. So this doesn’t change a thing.
Second, I believe Mendoza was once a good person. People do fuck up sometimes. It just so happens that he got the worst of all fucked up times.
Third, policemen, what’s wrong with you? You could have just at leastestablished crowd control. Fail!
Fourth, media people, what the hell is wrong with you, too? The bus seemed like an ice cream vehicle where kids run off to just when they heard its jingle. Mas marami pa ‘yung mga usisero kesa sa mga nag-asikaso.
Fifth, palo-cover-palo-cover-palo-cover. Yay!
Sixth, newscasters, paulit ulit? Paulit ulit? Nonsense. Ang sarap i-mute ng tv.
Seventh, I believe there were a few good policemen in there. They just did not show up. Hooray for you guys!
Eighth, I know there are hi-tech gadgets like motion detectors. Instead of spending millions of money on PNP’s foods and drinks (yes, I am aware of this issue, are you?), they could have just used the money to upgrade and train.
Ninth, I have become a fan of that bus because, well, for obvious reason, it seemed unbreakable. Or was it because the policemen who tried breaking it were all just weak? Lol. But in my own thought, I kind of wished the tourists and the hostage taker just rode a G-Liner.
Tenth, I could have all my schoolworks done now if it weren’t for this.
Eleventh, late reaction? Even at times like this, Filipinos still can’t make it on time?
Twelfth, those people, they came here to enjoy, to have fun, because they believed our country was worth-seeing, worth the money they paid for the tickets, worth the trip, and worth their… time. Why do we always fail people who expect so much from us?
Thirteenth, rigor mortis.
Fifteenth, yay! Philippines got famous in twelve hours. We didn’t know it’s as easy as that until now.
Sixteenth, I still believe Counterstrike should be a part of the policemen’s training.
Seventeenth, I blame this on media for airing everything live. They could have just hold/delayed the news for a few minutes so the hostage taker would not have an idea of what people were up to outside the bus. Uso ang tv sa bus. If that bus had a television, the whole world, including the hostage taker, could watch and see what was happening outside the bus. Mendoza could have also called someone from the outside and asked about what was being aired on tv.
Eighteenth, people, criminals or not, accomplices or not, a brother of a criminal or not, should be respected and not be treated like an animal.
Nineteenth, I wish this would not drastically affect the Philippines because we are still down there. Hindi pa nga naaayos yung mga nasira ng dating administrashon, panibagong problema na naman. Bakit ba lagi na lang minamalas ang Pilipinas?
Twentieth, my Pinsan said that if it were Jackie Chan who handled the tragedy today, it would have been done and resolved in just 5 minutes, even without the use of guns. I did hope superheroes really exist today, too.
I should stop typing now because I know that whatever I put in here won’t change a thing. The damage has been done and I know I will wake up tomorrow seeing how much it affected the whole country.
And for Pete’s sake, the hostage taker is now dead. I am not that Mendoza. The rest of the Filipinos are not him. Please do not ban us from entering your country. :(
